WATSONIAN SWIMMING CLUB – Membership Renewals for 2022-23
The existing excellent arrangements for swimming at the Galleon Club will continue for 2022-23. The WSC Swimming Membership fee for the Galleon Club will increase by £3 to £80, which is still a very good deal. All WSC members pay the Social Membership fee of £10 to cover WSC administrative costs, including the website, secretary’s expenses etc.

Membership of the Watsonian Swimming Club is open to Watsonians, their spouses and immediate family members over the age of 18, and parents of current and former pupils.
The arrangements are as follows
(1) WSC Swimming members automatically become Swimming (only) Members of the Galleon Club with full access to the pool during all Galleon Sessions.
Swimming times
Mondays: 7:00-8:00am; 6.30-9:30pm
Tuesdays: 7:00-8:00am; 6.30-9:30pm
Wednesdays : 7:00-8:00am; 6.30-9:30pm
Thursdays: 7:00-8:00am; 6.30-9:30pm
Fridays: 7:00-8:00am; 6.30-9:30pm
Saturdays: 1:30-4:30pm
Sundays: 11:30am – 4:30pm.
Prior to swimming members require to book a slot online via the Mywellness app .
(2) The “swimming club night “traditionally on a Wednesday has now been moved to a Thursday in order that there can be a social gathering at Myreside for those interested.
There are no designated lanes for members at the moment but this may be revisited depending on usage. The session for members is 8.00 - 9:00pm
(3) Important - you must bring your Galleon membership card to every swimming session and present it to the receptionist for scanning.
(4) Guests may be brought by Swimming Members at a cost of £7.00 per session. There is no limit to the number of guests who may be brought.
General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Please note that the recently-introduced GDPR requires that all WSC members complete the new WSC Membership Application Form and that Swimming Members also complete the Galleon form.
If applying for WSC Swimming Membership, please complete and sign the attached Galleon form fully and write “Watsonian Swimming Club” at the top, indicating that you are paying the WSC annual fee of £80, and enclose a cheque for £90.00, payable to the Watsonian Swimming Club (NOT the Galleon). The WSC Treasurer will extract the Galleon fee of £80.00 and forward it to the Galleon. Also, please complete and sign the attached WSC form.
This year, we are also asking Swimming Members to indicate their preferred Day(s) and Time(s) for swimming to enable communication of any unplanned pool closures etc that the Galleon Club informs us of.
If applying for WSC Social Membership, please complete and sign the attached WSC form only and enclose a cheque for £10.00, payable to the Watsonian Swimming Club.
Completed forms and cheques should be sent to reach the WSC Secretary, Rona Ferguson, by 30th April 2022. I should be very grateful if you would try to meet this date
